Welcome to Brandon

My name is Weichen Zhang, and I’m a documentary photographer who resides in Brandon, Manitoba. I currently work as a full-time marketing coordinator in Brandon, and I spend most of my other time focused on long-term personal photography projects.

I was born in China and I’ve been doing personal photography for almost 10 years. I deeply understand that Canada is a diverse nation, and photography is one of the most universal languages in the world. Over time, I realized that words can be limiting — so I chose to express myself through images. For me, photographs are a language beyond language.

Through my own perspective, I document local people and stories that define the city’s character and promote Brandon’s unique atmosphere, culture, and community spirit.
