The internationally renowned School of Music graduates students who go on to enjoy careers as professional orchestral musicians, opera singers, solo and chamber musicians, touring jazz and popular musicians, and celebrated music educators around the world. The School hosts hundreds of public performances throughout the year on campus at the acoustically superb Lorne Watson Recital Hall and next door at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium.

Brandon Jazz Festival

The Brandon Jazz Festival is an annual non-competitive event. It is an educational forum where young musicians come to perform for adjudicators and receive extensive feedback on their playing and singing. The top of the line adjudicators are professional musicians as well as educators from across Canada and the United States. Throughout the three-day festival, there are many discussion sessions with featured guest speakers, clinics, workshops with adjudicators, and special evening concerts with featured guest artists.
